About LPA Foundation

A community foundation,
built on shared roots.

LPA Foundation (legally, the Lindsay Place Alumni Foundation) was founded in 2012 by a small group of graduates who wanted to give back to the school that shaped them. What started as bursaries and uniform funds grew, year by year, event by event, into a community foundation with a much wider reach.

When Lindsay Place High School closed in 2021, we made a choice: continue. The friendships, the cause, the events, none of that needed a building. We expanded our focus to organizations in the West Island and beyond that share our values: palliative care, children's health, youth programs, and community spaces. Today the public brand is LPA Foundation, and our music-driven fundraising runs under Concerts for Compassion.

More than $180,000 given since 2012. Four active partner causes. Zero spent on salaries or overhead.

What guides us

Three commitments.

Mission

Honour. Give. Connect.

Honour the legacy of Lindsay Place. Give where it matters in our community. Connect generations through Concerts for Compassion and beyond.

Values

Transparent. Direct. Personal.

Every dollar accounted for. Every dollar handed directly to beneficiaries. Every event made personal.

Overhead

Zero.

No salaries, no office expenses, only the minimal fees required to operate. Volunteer-led, always.

Board

The volunteers behind it.

The current LPA Foundation board. Alumni, neighbours, friends, all serving without pay.
